In light of the recent federally declared disasters, we want to extend our thoughts to those affected. The IRS has extended certain tax deadlines for individuals and businesses in impacted areas. If you’ve been affected, you may have more time to file your tax returns or make payments. Please check the IRS Disaster Relief to see if your area qualifies for any extensions. We’re here to help if you need guidance during this time.
Reminder of key tax deadlines this month:
October 16, 2024
- 2023 Extended Deadline for Individual Tax Returns: If you filed for an extension back in April, this is your final chance to file your Form 1040 without facing penalties.
- 2023 Extended Deadline for C-Corporation Returns: C-Corporations that requested an extension must submit their returns by this date.
October 31, 2024
- Q3 2024 Quarterly Payroll Tax Returns (Form 941): Businesses must file Form 941 to report federal income tax, social security tax, and Medicare tax withheld from employees’ wages during the third quarter (July through September). State specific quarterly payroll tax returns are also due by October 31st.
Make sure to review your documents and contact us if you need assistance with any of these filings or contributions. If you’ve been impacted by a recent disaster, please let us know, and we can help determine if you qualify for any deadline extensions.
